There are not many localities which can claim to have three minerals discovered there all named after the same person but Siglo Veinte mine (Siglo XX mine) can: Vauxite, Paravauxite and Metavauxite, all after George Vaux, junior. What is even more remarkable is that even after a century these species have not been bettered elsewhere. This super miniature Paravauxite from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) displays its bladed triclinic crystal form extremely well and is richly covered in pale cream coloured crystals to 4.5 mm in length.
