An elongated, shallow open-ended cavity in near-white granular and crystallised Quartz veinstone is lined with an aggregate of fine, tightly packed, velvet-like long acicular matted needles of leafy olive-green Olivenite crystals. Typical for the locality at Wheal Gorland in the village of St. Day in the heart of the Cornish mining region, this rich example comes complete with four labels from previous owners. It is an excellent specimen, exemplified when examined at about x5 magnification.
