This rich, dense, large miniature-sized specimen of well-crystallized Nickeline is labelled as from the Sangerhausen area in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany but its crystals look very much like those from the neighbouring town of Eisleben. Intergrown, or overgrown by white Calcite, it appears that some of this carbonate may have been dissolved away in the distant past to expose what are really excellent, sharp, pointed pinkish metallic Nickeline crystals, individually reaching 1 to 1.5 mm in size. The metallic pinkish vein of Nickeline extends the full length of this rich specimen which has a feel of significant age to it. Ex A. G. Moss Collection, no. M519.
