A beautiful and magnificent specimen of jet-black, highly lustrous Neptunite from the Dallas Gem mine in San Benito County, California, USA. The two major Neptunite crystals are double terminated, measure 2.5 x 0.5 x 0.5 cm and 4.3 x 0.6 x 0.6 cm and have sharp edges and mirror-bright faces. These and many mm-sized Neptunite crystals contrast nicely against a crust of snow-white Natrolite which covers the bluish-grey Crossite matrix, a mineral belonging to the amphibole supergroup. A tremendous example of Neptunite.
