This is a really excellent specimen of Neptunite from the the world's best occurrence at Benitoite Gem mine, California, USA. It is not only the size and quality of the Neptunite crystals from the gem mine, but their contrasting matt white Natrolite backdrop which presents them perfectly, like a photo studio backdrop. This wonderful small cabinet specimen has a typical pale grey-blue matrix upon which the white Natrolite is draped like icing on a cake. Upon this the lustrous black prismatic crystals of Neptunite reach an impressive 3.7 cm in length. Two cornflower-blue millimetre-sized Benitoite crystals protrude through the white Natrolite at one end of the specimen, but it is the Neptunite here which is the star of the show.
