An exquisite small cabinet specimen of lustrous Native Sulphur crystals overgrowing a spiky bed of dog-tooth Aragonite from Agrigento Province in south-west Sicily, Italy. This province covers a large sulphur mining district and, like most other Sulphur specimens from Sicily, no more detailed provenance can be supplied. It is a stunning specimen, with glassy translucent bright lemon Native Sulphur crystals covering a good one third of the Aragonite encrusted display face. The largest Sulphur crystal measures 1.9 x 1.8 x 1.4 cm and, like all the other crystals, is double terminated. This classic combination of Native Sulphur with Aragonite is yet another European classic from the Dr Josef Clemente Collection of southern Germany.
