This stunning cabinet-sized specimen from White Pine mine, Ontonagon County, Michigan, USA is an absolute treasure and a real rarity. Some of the most sought after specimens from the Michigan copper mining district are the crystallized Native Coppers, but of those, the ones with well-defined larger blocky crystals are amongst the rarest. Native Silver specimens are rare too, and highly collectible, but how often do you come across a combined Native Silver and Native Copper specimen with perfectly-formed large Native Copper crystals? Almost never, but not quite because this is one. Not only this, but it is very large and extremely presentable. The specimen shows fascinating detail: from hackly bright metallic Native Silver intergrown with bright metallic hackly native Copper; to the larger, well-defined smooth Native Copper crystals with a darker patina. A little white Quartz is also present. The Native Copper crystals reach 1.5 cm in length and although slightly rounded in form show crystal faces and growth-lines. This is a magnificent White Pine mine specimen of museum quality.
