Native Silver specimens from the historically famous Freiberg mining area in Saxony, Germany are amongst the most desirable - on a par, if not more sought after than those from Kongsberg in Norway. This miniature specimen of Native Silver on matrix has the look of history to it. Thick twisted wires display a dark grey tarnished patina with glimpses of bright metallic pinkish silver underneath within crevises. This gnarled aggregate of wires sits atop Calcite matrix giving one no doubt as to its authenticity as a natural Native Silver. Matrix specimens such as this from Freiberg are ever so rare. A superb German Native Silver. Mounted on a small acryllic cube for display.
