This magnificent large miniature specimen of Romanian Native Gold is a classic from the rarer locality of Săcărâmb, Certeju de Sus, Deva, Hunedoara. We can tell this from the distinctive crystalline form which the Native Gold takes and because of its association with glossy, well-formed Sphalerite crystals with Pyrite on a finely crystallized bed of Quartz. Interestingly, it is accompanied by two old handwritten labels dating to the mid- to late-19th century which document it as from "Kajanel" which is another name for Căinelu de Sus, 10 miles to the northwest of Săcărâmb. It is from the superb systematic and historic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021). Specimens of this style of crystallization and in this quality are just never seen available, making this wonderful piece with fine historical labels a real treat. It comes with a custom-made Sunnywood acryllic display stand.
