This small miniature flattened plate of crystallised Native Copper is from Cornwall, but a more specific locality is not known. Sometimes a reasonable suggestion can be offered as to just where an unprovenanced specimen may originate, but for such a Native Copper there are too many potential candidates within Cornwall. Arborescent stems and branches of perfectly developed Native Copper crystals have crystallised within an open fracture, some 3 to 5 mm wide, the enveloping rock of which has now disappeared and the Native Copper mass left exposed. A great little Cornish Native Copper with an aesthetic and original patina, contained in a small card tray likely dating from the 1960's.
