This is a rather sculptural crystallized Native Copper from the famous copper mines at Bisbee, Warren District, Cochise County, Arizona, USA. Highly elongated sharply-tipped spinel-twinned Native Copper crystals protrude into cavities towards the centre of a quite open-textured pure aggregate of Native Copper. Some interlock like a birds nest, but the outer edge of the specimen on one side is more compact. These crystals reach up to 9 mm in length, with most 7 to 8 mm on average. There is minor pale green powdery alteration on the surface of the Native Copper within recessed pockets in the more compact areas, but the crystals are clean and show a very fine rich orange colour and good metallic lustre. A wonderfully characterful Arizonan Native Copper.
