This beautifully sculptural small cabinet-sized crystallized Cornish Native Copper displays magnificently (with support) and has wonderful heritage. Sadly, its provenance is no more specific than 'Cornwall'. However, it is noted as from the Bolitho collection (a famous Cornish family) from Ponsandane House in Penzance from whence it passed to Lt. Col. Williams (with his collection number 107 attached, plus label). In more recent times it has been owned by Barry Gamble and Nick Carruth. It displays a wonderful classic old-time copper patina, is extremely robust, and has several pieces of rock matrix attached, adding to its already fine character. A really fine 19th century (or perhaps earlier) Native Copper.
