A specimen of Native Copper from the Broken Hill mining district, New South Wales, Australia, the Copper of which is completely masked by an overgrowth of peppermint to deep leaf-green Malachite. The Native Copper forms a compact and dense arborescent mass consisting of stacked and branching equant Copper crystals of typically 2 mm diameter. The Malachite forms a micro-acicular coating beneath which the Native Copper crystal habits are clearly outlined.
