A beautiful and aesthetic thumbnail group of light smoky yellow, gemmy to translucent, divergent Mimetite crystals , measuring to 1.4 cm from the world famous Tsumeb mine in Namibia. Tsumeb remained operational for almost 100 years, eventually closing in about 1998 as a result ever diminishing reserves at great depth, high pumping costs and , as a final blow, strike action. Right from the beginning the mine was internationally famous its rare and superb specimens, which now grace collection around the world. These hexagonal prismatic crystals have flat pinacoid terminations and all display a waxy to resinous lustre.
