A most attractive miniature Mimetite from the San Pedro Corralitos mine in Chihuahua, Mexico. The specimen displays an aesthetic intergrown bubbly-botryoidal habit, forming spherical crystalline aggregates of typically 5 to 9 mm diameter which completely hide a characteristic chocolate-orange to rusty-brown limonitic matrix. The Mimetite is a rich acidic lemon-yellow with a delightful satin lustre created by the micro-terminations. Some of the spheres are divided internally by planar features. In many orientations these divisions are not apparent, but in certain directions can create a split colour effect of acidic lemon juxtaposed against lemon-curd yellow. A top-notch miniature Mexican Mimetite which is sure to please.
