A superb display specimen of the rare lead fluoro-chloride mineral Matlockite on matrix from the Type Locality at Bage mine, Cromford (near Matlock), Derbyshire. This small cabinet specimen bears a large (19 mm across) platy Matlockite crystal sitting atop in a perfect position for display. The crystal has some edge damage as is often the case for such historic pieces, but this does not overly detract from what is an impressive-sized crystal. The matrix consists of layered Baryte (of the type known locally as Cauk) and Galena and exudes the essence of Derbyshire mineralogy. A true British classic.
