This fine, large, clustered aggregate of sharp bladed Malachite pseudomorphs after orthorhombic Azurite crystals reaches smaller cabinet in size. This distinctive type of pseudomorph is a classic from the famous Tsumeb mine in Namibia but is known from a few other localities worldwide. However, none of the other places where this type of replacement are seen show these in association with the rare lead copper arsenate species Duftite, as seen here. If one looks really carefully, it can be seen that the paler green Duftite itself is a replacement, but a series of epimorphs after smaller cylindrical or prismatic crystals, probably Mimetite. Ex Hettrich Collection.
