if you are looking for a Morenci specimen with character then this one certainly has that, warts and all. Mounted for display on a small clear acryllic base the body of this specimen is a pitch-like black substance with a strong conchoidal fracture. This sometimes gets labelled as Tenorite, but also as black Chrysocolla. This develops upwards into leaf-green botryoidal aggregates with the outer surface of the glossy black phase shifting to green. Some of the botryoids are pure Malachite, with brighter green radiating crystals internally, or with blue Azurite, but most of the Malachite and Azurite are seen as smaller spherical aggregates, or as tiny crystals upon the surface of the larger botryoids. This is a fantastically characterful, if a little weird looking Morenci miniature.
