This wonderful spray of fibrous to acicular Malachite rises like a conifer tree from its cream coloured matrix from Kerrouchene in Khénifra Province, Morocco. Known for its superb Malachite pseudomorphs after Azurite, this locality has also produced some very fine sprays of velvety Malachite with lovely chatoyency. At 4.7 cm tall this particular Malachite spray is extremely dramatic, perched overhanging the edge of the dolomitized matrix but the specimen naturally sits upright with the Malachite rising up vertically in a statuesque fashion. There is one tiny abrasion to the tip of the Malachite spray but it is barely noticeable alongside the superb silky surface lustre. A really dramatic Malachite which catches ones attention.
