Cornwall is not renowned for exceptional Linarite specimens, but there are a few interesting occurrences within the county. One of those is the ancient lead mine at Penhale in north Cornwall. This miniature specimen from Malcolm Southwood's collection is richly invested with Linarite replacing oxidized Galena and Chalcopyrite. The gossanous matrix contains Linarite as masses intergrown with likely white Anglesite and small glossy deep blue well-formed Linarite microcrystals within a small cavity.
