This polished block contains an 8 x 6 mm grain hosting the extremely rare silver iron sulphide Lenaite from Privol'noye mine in the Sakha Republic, Eastern-Siberian Region, Russia. However, it has come to light that Privol'noye mine is a made-up western name, and that the material most likely came from Khachakchan Ag-Sb-Hg deposit, which is the Type Locality, where Lenaite was first described in 1995. As a polished block, the best way of viewing this specimen is through reflected light microscopy although most identification of these types of samples is now undertaken using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) with microprobe analysis. Rarely available material of this unusual species.
