Deep violet-carmine-red acicular crystals of the antimony oxysulphide mineral Kermesite form a rich vein section in a matrix of interlayered milky Quartz and sooty-black county rock. This choice miniature is from the Kermesite type locality at Br'unsdorf in the Freiberg District of Saxony, Germany, and is now considered a true German classic. The Kermesite crystals are typically 5 to 7 mm long and develop as branched arborescent fans. This is a highly sought-after locality for Kermesite, making this a super addition to any collection requiring a representative specimen.
