A new find of blue Hemimorphite was made at the Palabanda quarries, Mfouati District, Republic of the Congo in 2020 but most specimens are a very pale blue, or are punctuated with small crystals of deep blue Veszelyite. This cabinet-sized display specimen stands out because the surface is pure, uniformly blue Hemimorphite, of a quite intense colour and with a lovely velvety 'wet' lustre. There is one tiny contact mark near to the edge on one side, but otherwise it is in remarkable condition and displays wonderfully. Internally, the botryoidal crust of Hemimorphite displays white layering, similar to the famous Sardinian material. A very fine and showy Hemimorphite from this rather limited find.
