A proper, kidney-shaped specimen of the "Kidney Ore" variety of Hematite from one of the less well-known of the west Cumbrian iron mines. A super, fist-sized botryoidal aggregate of Hematite - glossy and smooth on the outside (but not too worn) with great internal layering (with some evidence of smoothing from handling), just like an onion, but significantly heavier! A tiny patch of Quartz is present on one side of the base. A lovely smaller display specimen. The site of Eure Pits is now beneath a Safari Park, so there is no chance of collecting any more specimens. A small, original handwritten label accompanies the specimen. Due to its weight, an additional charge for postage may be required.
