Many present-day collectors are familiar with the blue Baryte specimens being produced form this locality, situated close to the coastline in northern Morocco. Beautifully crystallised Hematite from this locality is probably less well known and this stunning thumbnail is a great example. Flattened semi-hexagonal plates of bright metallic silver-black Hematite crystals form a branching, mirror-like surface covered in soft-swirling growth patterns of fluidic appearance. The Hematite is attached to micro-crystals of colourless Quartz and creamy-white Calcite. The specimen is mounted vertically on a square colourless acrylic base, which display the mirror-like plate to perfection.
