Excellent extremely bright platy crystals of Hematite form an impressive rosetted aggregate measuring some 2.5 x 2.5 cm on matrix from Kohlergraben in the upper reaches of the Binn Valley in Switzerland. This is a lovely intergrown cluster of tabular crystals with pseudohexagonal form and individually measuring to 0.8 cm, and with some in partial rosette habit, like 'Iron Roses'. The Hematite crystals display a fine metallic black lustre from their mirror-like faces. The well developed crystals of Hematite are on a light brown matrix with a sparkling dense granular texture. A really fine alpine Hematite.
