Three arrows mark the position of minute feathery acicular sprays of silky, pale green Goudeyite (there are in fact at least five sprays) on a large thumbnail specimen of unspecified rhombic carbonate from Level 44, Tsumeb mine, Namibia. Goudeyite, a copper aluminium arsenate hydroxide hydrate, is not recorded as from Tsumeb mine on Mindat.org, but this specimen comes with a Cureton Mineral Co. (Tucson, Arizona - c. 1983-1994) label recording it as such. The specimen was in Dr Hans-Jurgen Wilke's (1925-2014) systematic mineral collection and his large colourful label documents that he obtained it from Cureton Mineral Co. in Tucson in October 1993. A microscope is required to appreciate this specimen which could be something more unusual from Tsumeb mine. The Goudeyite crystals show the classic Mixite Group morphology and small patches of Malachite are also present on the back of the specimen.
