Call this an ugly brute if you choose, but like so many mineral specimens, the more you study it, the more it appeals! Thick and chunky broad unterminated crystals of Cerussite to 4 x 2 x 1.4 cm form an intergrown tangle coated with micro-spherical coal-black Goethite, with good lustre under magnification, but matt when viewed unaided. Across this, sparsely populated ribbons of small, mm-size, highly lustrous Cerussite crystals form mirror-bright points across the specimen. These Cerussite crystals are themselves internally clouded jet-black by Goethite inclusions.
