Sharp, blocky pseudomorphs of Cerussite after Anglesite, coated with jet-black Goethite are famous from the Block 14 opencut at Broken Hill Proprietary mine, New South Wales, Australia and this is a splendid example. The smooth uniform layer of Goethite varies in lustre from bright with a silky sheen to an almost matt finish, dependent on the texture of the underlying Cerussite. The specimen is composed of Cerussite pseudomorphing former Anglesite crystals from 0.2 to 2.0 cm. Glassy Cerussite can be seen around the base and rear side of this very fine specimen.
