This is a spectacular large display specimen from Krushev Dol mine, in the Madan Ore Field, Rhodope Mountains, Bulgaria. This mine was made famous by its spectacularly complex crystals of Galena - many spinel-law twins - and with extremely bright lustre. The best specimens came out during the 1990s and early 2000s, but now the supply has dried up. This stunning piece is a classic, featuring complicated heavily twinned elongated Galena crystals with a few fine dark glossy Sphalerite crystals. Shooting out from these sulphides in many directions are bright white opaque 'needle' Quartz crystals making for a dramatic display piece. It is in superb condition for such a large and spectacular specimen.
