The combination of beautifully crystallised Galena surrounded by Siderite and micro-crystallised milky Quartz forms a choice largish miniature or small cabinet specimen from Neudorf in Harzgerode, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, The village of Neudorf is at the centre of an historic lead and silver mining district, the silver mainly deriving from argentiferous Galena. The Galena forms a near-spherical modified cuboctahedron of bright metallic greyish silver. Around this are crystallised plates of rich cinnamon brown Siderite and drusy Quartz.
