Slightly modified cuboctahedral Galena crystals and steeply terminated chisel-like Arsenopyrite crystals cover a mixed sulphide matrix from the Freiberg mining district in Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. Overgrowing both the Galena and Arsenopyrite are drusy crystal clusters of creamy-tan Calcite, which form bright glassy bundles to about 8 mm long. The Arsenopyrite is steely-silver with a delicate steel-blue-bronze iridescence and forms sharp crystals to at least 1.3 cm long. A great combination piece from the famous Freiberg district and ex. the Josef Clemente (1899-1987) Collection of southern Germany.
