With a colour and texture like gummy jelly sweets (candy), this miniature off-matrix aggregate of crystallized Fluorite is a great example of the unique style of Fluorite recently (2024) discovered at Milpo mine in the Andes mountains in Peru. With a cleaved back, the aggregate of Fluorite crystals is composed of many alligned octahedral crystals, some with truncated 'cubic' tips. The largest of these crystals reaches 1 cm across. Several small (up to 4 mm across) dark brown rounded crystals of Sphalerite are scattered upon the surface of the Fluorite crystals. With back lighting the Fluorite's great translucency is seen, with its colour grading from a pure green at its base, up to a more lime-, or yellow-green towards the top, just like some gummy candy.
