Boltsburn mine is such a famous 'Weardale' locality (yes, it is in Rookhope Valley which shoots off from Weardale proper) that when classic Fluorite specimens appear on the market they tend to attract significant interest. This superb smaller cabinet specimen presents a lovely aggregate of extremely glassy cream to beige coloured cubic Fluorite crystals with scattered rosetted clusters of orange-brown Siderite crystals. Internally, the Fluorite crystals show both glassy and cloudy parts, making for a display full of fascinating detail. A very pretty Boltsburn piece. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection.
