Wow, what a rarity. Specimens of Fluorite from Obira mine in Japan are virtually never seen for sale and those that are around date to the early 1900s. This small cabinet specimen from Arvid Pasto's famous Fluorite collection features a large, nearly 4 cm wide, complex modified cubo-octahedral Fluorite crystal nestled in a pocket surrounded by terminated prismatic Quartz crystals. The Fluorite crystal is not colourless, but has a faint pink colour. A subtle specimen, but to Fluorite experts this is a cracker. Ex Arvid Pasto collection (no. AEP1330) illustrated in his 2009 book, Collector's Guide to Fluorite (Fig. 136, page 79).
