Fluorite from West Pasture mine is readily recognisable because of its beautiful delicate, often apple-green colour. More unusually, as in this fine specimen, the Fluorite is wonderfully colour-zoned and sits on modified cuboctahedral Galena crystals of bright silver to matt mid-grey. Fluorite cubes to 1.8 cm on edge are scattered over the Galena in small clusters. The bright glassy Fluorite cubes are an overall acidic apple-green, occasionally with orange-tan corners and edges, and displaying splendid concentric colour zoning from the faces to their centres in shades of grey, bluish-grey, lemon, acidic yellow and bright apple-green. An excellent and different example of fluorite with Galena from West Pasture mine in Weardale.
