El Hammam mine in the Meknès-Tafilalet Region, Morocco has produced many colours of Fluorite from three main veins. We don't have details of which vein this specimen came from, but it is a lovely purple colour which is unusual from this mine. Small cabinet in size, the Fluorite crystals reach about 5 cm on edge and have a nice glassy surface to them. They have sharp, well-formed edges, with just the very slightest of wear. The largest crystal displays a line of darker purple zoning along one edge. A bed of white Quartz crystals forms the natural base of the specimen with a partial coating of matt, chalky white Calcite and minor Pyrite upon the Fluorite. An attractive Moroccan Fluorite with crystals of a very good size. Ex Jesse Fisher collection.
