This miniature Fluorite specimen is a classic from Pint's quarry in Black Hawk County, Iowa, USA, which closed in the late 1990s. Displaying the famous 'root-beer' coloured Fluorite, but actually quite dark in colour, it also has the classic combination with small scalenohedral Calcite crystals, some with inclusions of Pyrite. The Fluorite forms an aggregate of glassy, cubic crystals, 3 to 4 mm on edge, many of which have fine sharp edges, but those around the periphery do show some damage. Ex Arvid Pasto collection, specimens from Pint's quarry are now hard to find.
