This superb Denton mine Fluorite-Calcite specimen featured as a half-page photo in Arvid Pasto's book: Collector's Guide to Fluorite (Fig. 71, page 50). As a cabinet-sized display specimen it presents extremely well, showing off the less-often seen combination of large dark purple Fluorite cubes with contrasting partial overgrowth of small white scalenohedral Calcite crystals. Both the Fluorite and the encrusting Calcite crystals are in excellent condition. The Fluorite is very dark coloured, but its purple shines through from the edges. The largest Fluorite crystal reaches 5 x 4 cm and under magnification the complexity of its form can be seen - as many small tessellated cubic crystals. The largest scalenohedral Calcite crystal reaches 9 mm in length. Ex Arvid Pasto collection, no. AEP946.
