Well-developed, gemmy to translucent cubic crystals of light peppermint green Fluorite measuring to over 1 cm are clustered and scattered over crystals of Calcite with a light coating of biscuit coloured Limonite. This magnificent miniature is from the Heights mine close to the village of Westgate in Weardale, Cumbria and covers a core of limonitic ironstone. The Calcite forms nail-head terminated hexagonal stacks of up to 0.9 cm long by 0.9 cm between flats which are uncommon from this locality. In direct daylight, the peppermint green intensifies while under LWUV the Fluorite fluoresces bright whitish purple. A choice Fluorite with Calcite from the famous Heights mine in Weardale, England.
