A large display specimen of the classic Baryte-Fluorite combo from the Berbes Mining District in Asturias, northern Spain. The Fluorite is a little paler than some specimens from the Berbes area, but the crystals are large - to nearly 2 cm across - and an attractive purple colour. Several large cockscomb aggregates of cream coloured bladed Baryte, to over 3.5 cm in length, sit upon the bed of cubic Fluorite crystals, making for a dramatic display. The Fluorite crystals continue around to the other side of the specimen and show a translucent, somewhat frosted appearance. A fine display specimen from a famous European locality, and instantly recognizable.
