This great miniature-sized combination specimen of Fluorite and Sphalerite is instantly recognizable as from Elmwood mine, such are its distinctive and naturally attractive features. Two intergrown cubes of translucent pale purple Fluorite sit upon a fine crystallized mass of orange-brown resinous bladed, ridge-like Sphalerite crystals. The Fluorite crystals are similar in size, one reaching about 1.8 cm on edge, the other a little less, and both present the famous scattering of smaller, epitaxial crystals tessellated across their surface. The larger crystal is the most prominent and is complete all round, save for a tiny chip to one corner, but looks superb with its classic Sphalerite backdrop. Ex Arvid Pasto Collection, this is a really fine Elmwood mine miniature.
