Compared to the classic, colourless, waterclear Fluorite from 2nd Sovetskii mine, Dal'negorsk, Kavalerovo Mining District, Primorskiy Kray, Russia pale sea-blue crystals like these are much rarer. This lovely miniature comes from Arvid Pasto's renowned worldwide Fluorite collection and the combination with a bed of finely crystallized white Calcite creates a very pretty display. The Fluorite crystals occur as individuals and small groups with unusual stepped forms all with good translucency. A couple of the crystals show very slight contact to their edges but this is not overly apparent. Most Fluorite specimens from 2nd Sovetskii mine were introduced to collectors during the 1990s with little more of note for several decades.
