Derbyshire Fluorites sometimes (with the exception of Blue John) get the reputation of being a bit dull in terms of their colour and lustre. However, sometimes you don't need bright colours or sparkling crystal faces to warrant attention. This is the case here, as this large miniature specimen from Crich Cliff quarry catches ones attention because of its intricate zonation. Admittedly, this zonation is in shades of cream and beige, but it just looks so distinctive. There is some scuffing to crystal edges, but they are naturally etched anyway and it is full of character. Individually, the crystals reach 2 cm across, with most above 1 cm on edge.
