Wheal Mary Ann near Menheniot in the Liskeard District of Cornwall is well-known for chalcedonic Quartz pseudomorphs after octahedral Fluorite crystals, but original Fluorite crystals are much rarer. This pretty miniature specimen features the typical Chalcedony matrix but rather than being topped by white to cream coloured Chalcedony octahedra it is coated in crowded sea-green Fluorite octahedra. These reach 7 mm on edge and some show cleaved surfaces, but the combination of colour and other well-formed crystals makes it a very nice piece. Ex Malcolm Southwood collection, no. MS 2011.250.
