The South Cut area at Blanchard mine is renowned for having produced the richest blue Fluorite crystals that the mine has ever produced, from a find in 2011. However, the range of colour seen in Blanchard Fluorites is extreme. This large miniature specimen from the South Cut area features two pale purple cubes which sit elegantly upon a white Quartz matrix. It is from the extensive Fluorite collection put together by Arvid Pasto over many decades. The largest crystal reaches 1.5 cm on edge and the smaller, 1 cm. Both have a slightly etched surface texture, translucent, but not gemmy, but are nicely formed and stand out well against the white matrix.
