Marienschacht mine is one of the mines in the Wölsendorf Fluorite Mining District, Bavaria, Germany famous for producing specimens of Honigspat, or Honey Spar, an amber-coloured variety of Fluorite. This cabinet-sized specimen from Marienschacht mine is richly covered in deep orange translucent cubic crystals of Fluorite, individually reaching 1.1 cm on edge. The specimen is not without damage, with several areas showing bruising, but it is its superb colour which catches your attention the most. Beneath the drusy orange crystals the matrix is massive white and purple Fluorite.
