Valzergues is a famous older French Fluorite locality, known to have been producing specimens since the 1920s from the 'Filon Jaune' or 'Yellow Vein'. Located in the northern Occitanie region, this is an area steeped in Fluorite history. The intensity of the amber colour of this individual cubic Fluorite crystal is exceptional and its internal transparency extremely fine, and although it does have some slight chipping to its corners it is, at 2.8 cm on edge, an impressive size for an individual crystal from Valzergues. As an additional pull, the fine detail of growth lines across at least two of its faces are really fine.
