It is exceptionally rare to see specimens from Wismut Shaft 29b in the Annaberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany. This cabinet-sized Fluorite from the Flacher Vein is not just "a specimen", but a stunner. Covered in a superb intergrowth of sharp, cubic, dark purple Fluorite crystals, individually reaching 1.7 cm on edge, it looks amazing. The Fluorite is so dark as to be almost opaque and yet underneath the crystals the massive Fluorite base layer is an entirely different colour, with hints of orange. There is the slightest of contact damage to the corner of one or two crystals, but it is in remarkable condition and displays wonderfully as a thin plate. A super rare locality Fluorite from this classic German mining region. Ex Jesse Fisher collection.
