A wonderfully coloured Fluorite from Gersdorf, near to the town of Roßwein in the Freiberg District of Saxony, Germany. The Fluorite covers a plate of greyish Quartz-rich matrix, forming elongated cubic crystals of the most spectacular golden amber yellow, which emit a stunning orange glow. The cubes are sharp and well formed, the largest measuring 1.6 x 1.5 x 1.4 cm. Inspected at low magnification, say about x5, alternating nested zoning is observed within each prism. The crystals are also included with tiny irregular masses of a golden sulphide, probably Pyrite and possibly Chalcopyrite. A show-stopping yellow Fluorite from Germany.
